Genesis Waters Lug-A-Jug
What is Lug-a-Jug?
Genesis Waters provides clean water solutions and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those around the world who don’t have access to either.
As one of our global partners, we’ll host the Genesis Water’s Lug a Jug event on Sunday, September 17th at our 84th St. Campus. What is it? It’s a 6k Fun Run/Walk because that’s the average distance a woman or child walks every day to get water in many parts of the world. There will be stations along the Route, where people can learn more about different cultures, such as trying to carry a jerry can on one’s head! To sign up for the event, go to GenesisWaters.org/lugajug
Event Times
The 2023 Lug-a-Jug 6K will be held on Sunday, September 17th from 3:00-5:00PM. Packet Pickup will be held on Friday night, Sept 16 from 6:00-7:00 and on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9:00-11:00AM.
Post pictures of you/your team and your jug as you do the race on our Genesis Waters Facebook page or @genesiswatersworldwide on Instagram with the hashtags: #ItAllBeginsWithWater #LugAJug #GenesisWaters
Where
The course is located on the grounds of Cornerstone Church, 1175 84th Street, SE, Byron Center MI. The packet pickup will be at the same location.
Cost
The Run is $30 per participant, which includes a race t-shirt, race bib, a water jug, frozen refreshments and some other little goodies. All profits from the race will go directly towards providing a water well, so that at least one village of people no longer has to walk this far to fetch their water.
How else can you help? We are encouraging all participants to raise sponsors for your participation in the event. You can have your sponsors donate online or write checks out to Genesis Waters. We will send you more information on how to do this after you register yourself. This will increase the impact we can have on both providing clean water and spreading the Gospel!
Volunteers
We also need volunteers to help run the event! We’re looking for people to help with setting up, directing traffic in the parking lot, staff a “learning station”, clean up, etc.
