Family Promise's IHN Program
Cornerstone is helping to end homelessness, one family at a time, through Family Promise's IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network) Program. We have been a host congregation for over 20 years by providing food, friendship and shelter for families in a housing crisis, one week at a time, up to four times each year.
Help Make Cornerstone “Home”
After a Covid-forced hiatus, Family Promise's IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network) Program is coming back to Cornerstone!
Families experencing homelessness stay at the 84th St. Campus. It becomes their home for the week! We welcome and make them comfortable by offering food, friendship and a safe place to stay.
You can help by preparing the space for families, bringing in food items, preparing/serving dinner, creating Kids Activity Kits and dropping them off, helping with tear down and laundry, and our biggest need: having you sleep at 84th St. in your own room as an overnight host.
If 84th St. isn’t your campus, it’s okay! Serving at IHN is a great way to see how IHN works. And we invite you to come and serve, because we have dreams of hosting guest families at all three of our campuses, and you can be part of the team at your campus in the future!
**In order to provide the safest environment for the families and especially their vulnerable children, Family Promise of GR requests that all volunteers wear face coverings while inside the space where families are. Families will also be asked to wear face coverings while they are in the common space, except while they are eating. Thank you for being willing to do this simple thing to keep the guest families/kids as safe as possible during their stay with Cornerstone.**
